About BOTIA

Read the label. Understand what it means.

What BOTIA is

BOTIA is a food-label intelligence tool. It reads the real ingredient list on a product and turns that text into structured information: ingredient explanations, evidence layers, regulatory context and choice-related signals.

Why BOTIA exists

Food labels are designed to declare ingredients, not to explain them. Important context is often scattered across regulations, scientific opinions, certification systems and ingredient terminology. BOTIA brings that context closer to the moment you are reading the product.

How BOTIA works

01

Read the real label

BOTIA starts from the ingredient list that is actually printed on the food. A photograph is used to read that text rather than relying only on a barcode or a generic product record.

02

Detect relevant signals

The ingredients are matched against BOTIA's structured rules and knowledge base to identify signals that may matter in different evidence and choice layers.

03

Connect evidence and context

BOTIA links what was found to ingredient explanations, scientific or regulatory sources, and clear limits on what can and cannot be concluded.

What BOTIA is built around

Evidence before assumptions

BOTIA does not convert a packaging type, a general rule or a broad brand statement into a claim about a specific product without enough evidence.

Uncertainty stays visible

When origin, applicability or product-level evidence cannot be confirmed, BOTIA keeps that uncertainty visible instead of filling the gap with a guess.

Your choice remains yours

BOTIA organises information. It does not moralise food choices or decide what somebody should eat. The purpose is transparency: BOTIA shows what is there and you decide what matters.

One product, different questions

The same ingredient list can matter for different reasons. BOTIA lets people explore composition, sugars and sweeteners, texture and flavourings, E-numbers, animal origin, Muslim choice, women-focused evidence and regulatory context without collapsing them into a single judgement.

Evidence and traceability

Ingredient explanations and regulatory information are linked to identifiable sources whenever available. BOTIA separates what is written on the label from what can be verified externally and marks missing or unconfirmed information rather than filling the gap.

What BOTIA is not

  • BOTIA is not a certification body and does not issue halal, vegan, safety or regulatory certificates.
  • BOTIA does not replace medical, legal, nutritional or regulatory advice.
  • BOTIA does not present information that the label or sufficiently linked external evidence cannot support as if it were confirmed for that specific product.

Transparency, not a verdict.

BOTIA shows what is there, what the evidence supports and where the limits are. You decide what matters.
