Why BOTIA flags it
BOTIA flags it because E964 is a sweetening ingredient that can also function as a bulking agent, stabiliser, texturiser or thickener, and it may appear under official synonyms such as hydrogenated starch hydrolysate.
BOTIA CAN
- Identify E964, polyglycitol syrup and official synonyms including hydrogenated starch hydrolysate and polyglucitol.
- Trigger the sweetener, texture and E-number information layers.
BOTIA CANNOT
- Determine the amount present or the precise proportions of its component polyols from the ingredient list alone.
- Predict an individual's digestive response or the product's overall metabolic effect from this ingredient alone.
