What it is
A high-intensity sweetener and flavour-modifying additive identified in the EU as E959.
Why BOTIA flags it
It sweetens at very low concentrations, so very little is needed — the label does not say how much. It is also used to modify flavours, not only to sweeten. JECFA evaluated it in 2026 and set a temporary limit: a reproductive toxicity study is still missing, which JECFA has requested before making the limit definitive.
