What it is
A family of cellulose and modified-cellulose texturisers. The current EU list includes E460–E466 and E468–E469; JECFA also recognises ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose as INS 467.
Why BOTIA flags it
BOTIA groups these declarations because the global family is broader than a simple uninterrupted EU E-number range. A label may say cellulose gum, CMC, HPMC or a specific code; BOTIA should preserve the distinction rather than inventing a nonexistent current EU E467 authorisation.
BOTIA CAN
- Detect the current EU cellulose codes and common names, plus INS 467 where that international identifier is actually declared.
- Show the texture and numbering context while distinguishing EU E-numbers from an INS identifier used outside the EU list.
BOTIA CANNOT
- Determine viscosity grade, substitution pattern or concentration from the ingredient list.
- Assume that every INS member of the global family is authorised as an E-number in the EU.
