What it is
A high-intensity sweetener formed from aspartame and acesulfame, authorised in the EU under E962.
Why BOTIA flags it
This ingredient is actually two sweeteners joined together: aspartame and acesulfame K. Because of the aspartame, the label must warn that it contains phenylalanine — important for people with phenylketonuria. JECFA applies the limits of each of its two components, rather than a separate limit of its own.
